Endurance International Group on Wikipedia

Endurance International Group, Inc. (EIG), formerly BizLand, is a web hosting company. The company was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts. It achieved its size by acquiring a large number of smaller companies, which it continues to operate under the original brand names.

In 2011, Endurance was bought from Accel-KKR by Warburg Pincus and GS Capital Partners, for around $975 million. The company went public in October 2013.

In April 2014, a major network issue at the data center in Provo, Utah, affected customers of Bluehost, HostMonster and JustHost, and took down many of the dedicated servers owned by HostGator customers.

In March 2015, the company announced an investment in Netherlands-based technology startup AppMachine, acquiring 40% of the company.

Discuss Endurance International Group in the comments…

Who is the best host independent of Endurance International?

We recommend SiteGround and A2 Hosting. They are the top two ranked hosts in our database.

    NO EIG

I’m glad to see more and more people posting about the evils of EIG. This is the only way to make them change their ways. To affect the bottom line but letting informing more webmasters about the truth of the service and support downgrades that happen with any host that is acquired by Endurance International Group.

    Hurt their bottom line

How many of us need to post in comments and discussion boards for EIG to change their ways? Will they ever offer better service? No.

Too many newcomers who just learned about hosting let alone Endurance International Group. Plus, they own so many hosting brands, when a new customer inevitably wants to leave, they end up still in the grasp of EIG.

Their bottom line will not be hurt, until quality competition comes and more webmasters learn about the evils of EIG.

    Arvixe to Siteground

Getting sick of moving hosts cause they have been bought by EIG.

    Latest move: Arvixe to Siteground

Which company will succumb to the temptation of selling to EIG?

Hopefully, not SiteGround, A2 Hosting, or InMotion.

      Please not SiteGround.

Cancelled my web hosting on all the providers they acquired. Including HostGator, Bluehost, and iPage.

      Ted Williams

Agreed. I dropped all of them as well moved on to Siteground and never been happier.

    Never EIG
