Whois Hosting This – Good 4 / 5 Stars

Claire Broadley rated BlueHost Excellent, giving the host 5 out of 5 stars.

Summary: Bluehost’s hosting is a simple, competitive option in the shared hosting market, and its more advanced plans are well-featured and well-priced. If you like to keep things simple, you’ll enjoy the fact that Bluehost offers clear, non-technical explanations of package features, and its one-click installers offer enough to keep beginner and intermediate website owners busy. However, if you’re expecting spikes in server load, or you need an uptime guarantee, you may be better off spending a little more money with a different host.

Summary: In 2010, BlueHost and its sister companies, FastDomain and HostMonster, were sold to the Endurance International Group (EIG). Shivar Web – Above Average 3.5 / 5 Stars

Nate Shivar rated BlueHost 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Summary: Good choice for brand-name, straight, simple long-term host. But performance issues and feature caps holds them back a bit.

    Who needs bluehost? NOBODY!

    EIG destroyed Bluehost

It pains me to see what EIG has done to BlueHost.

      PSA: Endurance International Group

Just add it to the long, long list of quality web hosting companies who have been bought by Endurance International Group and then quality of service slashed in all areas.

It is important for consumers to stay away from EIG, but with the amount of hosting brands they operate it is almost impossible. Especially since new webmasters cannot be expected to know the evils of EIG. They search top web hosting companies and naturally they are turned on to a bunch of EIG hosts.

    SiteLock Sucks

I kept getting hacked files on my account, nothing serious, but then BlueHost would try to sell SiteLock service. I’m convinced they do this on purpose to try and sell SiteLock.

    Blue? Never Again

I used to be a huge fan of BlueHost.

I could recommend them to friends and not worry about their experience cause I knew it would be good.

However, times have change and EIG definitely changed BlueHost and for the worse. Much, much worse. Stay away from BlueHost.

Try Siteground, A2 Hosting or InMotion Hosting.
